One of Riverfield's greatest assets is the time parents and friends devote to the school. Their countless volunteer hours and tireless fundraising efforts make a significant difference to the school and to our students. Most of the volunteering and fundraising efforts are organized by the Riverfield Family Association (RFA).
Riverfield Family Association
All parents and staff are members of the Riverfield Family Association (RFA), which encourages family participation and promotes educational programs, financial welfare, and service to the school community. Through RFA, each student’s education is enhanced by parent involvement.
The RFA sponsors many fun fundraisers during the year that support programming and keep tuition at a more affordable level. These fundraisers supplement our resources to purchase items not covered by tuition income. The RFA funds provide computers, library books, facility enhancements, and much more. RFA contributes over $150,000 annually to the operating budget through events such as:
Sleepovers and Friday Nights Out, held several times a semester, allow parents a night out with the security of knowing their children are safe at school with familiar friends and teachers.
Each fall, a fundraiser is conducted as a means for raising money toward RFA’s budget. For the past several years, the RFA has coordinated the it is called Run for Riverfield, held in October. It consists of two fun and active events: a Jog-a-Thon and a Fun Run. All students will participate in the Jog-a-Thon and are encouraged to raise money by cash/check donations using the paper form sent home in their packet or by online credit card donations. Prizes are awarded for donations raised and for top fundraisers in each Wing. Families join in the fun during the evening for the Fun Run.
The Sapphire Celebration Annual Auction is the RFA's school-wide event held each spring that includes dinner, entertainment, and live, silent, and online auction components. The Auction Committee is open to any family members interested in assisting with this large-scale fundraiser.
There are several outside programs endorsed by the RFA as ways to give to the school. They include:
