Riverfield Country Day School was founded in
1984 by a group of parents and teachers working with Marty and
Tom Clark. This group's motivation was to provide an enhanced
opportunity for educational growth and personal development for
their children. The long-range plan included a country campus
with outdoor learning to accommodate a hundred students in five
years.
August 4, 1984, Riverfield opened with 40 children
ages two months old to 2nd grade at 45th and Peoria; beginning
one of the first multi-age programs in Tulsa.
June 1985, enrollment grew rapidly and Riverfield moved to a larger
space at 6925 S. Yorktown. With the success of the program, plans
were accelerated to move "across the river in a field."

land was purchased for future expansion.
Spring 1999, received accreditation from the
Independent Schools of the Southwest, 1 of 2 schools in Tulsa
and 1 of 5 in Oklahoma.
