A planned gift is one of the most powerful ways to express your values and extend your impact far beyond your lifetime. You can support Riverfield while achieving personal and financial goals — and some options even pay you income in return.

Some gifts cost you nothing today. Others reduce your taxes. Some pay you income for life. Explore the options below to find what fits your situation.

A gift through your will costs you nothing during your lifetime and can be changed at any time. Bequests work for anyone — married or single, any age or wealth level. You can give a fixed dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, specific property, or the remainder after other gifts are made.

Sample bequest language:
“I hereby give, devise, and bequeath [$ amount / __% of my estate / specific property] to Riverfield Country Day School, a non-profit located at 2433 West 61st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74132, TIN: 73-1218962, for [general use / specific purpose].”
Naming Riverfield as a beneficiary of a financial account, retirement plan, or life insurance policy is one of the simplest planned gifts available. Just contact your plan administrator and complete a beneficiary form — no attorney required. You can name the school as full or partial, primary or contingent beneficiary, and update it at any time.

Key benefits:
- Costs nothing now; assets remain fully yours during life
- Can save heirs up to 65% in taxes on retirement account assets
- Reduces or avoids probate fees; qualifies for an estate tax charitable deduction
If you have held appreciated publicly traded stock for more than one year, donating shares directly to Riverfield typically lets you avoid capital gains tax entirely while claiming a full fair-market-value charitable deduction. Contact your financial institution to initiate the transfer, then notify the school so we can acknowledge your gift.
If you are 70½ or older, you can give up to $111,000 per year directly from your IRA tax-free — a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). It counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) if you are 73 or older and is not included in your taxable income. Simply complete a distribution form and direct it to your IRA custodian.
A donor-advised fund (DAF) acts like a charitable savings account: you contribute assets, receive an immediate tax deduction, and recommend grants to qualified charities over time. You can support Riverfield by recommending a one-time grant, setting up recurring grants, or naming the school as the beneficiary of your fund.
A charitable gift annuity (CGA) lets you make a meaningful gift while receiving fixed payments for life. You transfer cash or property to Riverfield, and in return we guarantee regular payments to you and/or a loved one. You may also receive a partial charitable income tax deduction, and a portion of payments may be tax-free. Any remaining balance supports our mission after your lifetime. CGAs are a strong fit if you want predictable income in retirement and a lasting legacy. (Under 65? Ask about a Deferred CGA.)
Charitable trusts provide structured income while supporting the causes and people you love. Two common types:
Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT): Pays income to you or your beneficiaries for life or a set term; the remainder goes to charity. May provide an income tax deduction and reduce gift and estate taxes.
Charitable Lead Trust (CLT): Pays income to charity for a set term; assets then pass to your family or heirs. Can produce income tax deductions and gift tax savings.
A revocable living trust becomes effective immediately, avoids probate, and gives you full flexibility to add or remove assets throughout your life. You control who receives what and when. Including Riverfield as a beneficiary is a private, efficient way to leave a charitable legacy while retaining full use of your assets today.
Gifts to financial aid support Riverfield's belief that all children should have access to education that ignites adventure, inspires inquiry, and builds excellence. Click here to give and select Financial Aid to designate your gift.
