THE RIVERFIELD EXPERIENCE IS ABOUT MORE THAN JUST LIFE IN THE CLASSROOM.

Riverfield encourages students of all ages to participate in activities and organizations that interest them. Because of the flexibility we provide, our students are able to take part in many of these events and activities. The balance between school work, athletics, and other activities naturally teaches students how to manage their time wisely while encouraging them to pursue their interests.

One Riverfield: Activities and Tradition for our RCDS Community

Visiting Day
This November event is a way for our students to share their school with parents, grandparents, and family friends.  This special day provides visitors the opportunity to become familiar with Riverfield and to see students in a classroom setting. Student exhibitions and performances are often part of this occasion.

Homecoming
By hosting our annual basketball Homecoming, we encourage students and their families, alum, and the faculty to join together in Raven pride. This event is highlighted by a spirit week, pep rally, and Varsity basketball games.

Riverfield Rocks the Cains, Café Night & Llamapalooza
These performances showcase the hard work and talent of the students in the Riverfield Rocks band program. Café Night takes place at the end of the first semester while Llamapalooza is held each spring. Early in the new year, student bands perform in the legendary Cain's Ballroom. These family-friendly events bring the Riverfield community together for incredible concert experiences on campus.

Riverfield Family Association Fundraisers:

Run for Riverfield
BoosterThon powers our nine-day Run for Riverfield fundraiser. Family and friends anywhere in the world can support Riverfield Country Day School by making donations or pledges for laps run or participation by our students. The Pre-School though Lower School students will run the Fun Run course in the morning, while the Middle and Upper School students’ fundraiser will culminate in a Color Run that afternoon. The Run for Riverfield event kicks off with a Pep Rally the week before the actual run.  Be on the lookout for more information that will be sent to our families via email, social media, and fliers during the program.

Sapphire Celebration
The year’s biggest fundraiser, this adults-only event is held annually and organized by the RFA.  The evening includes silent, live, and online auctions in addition to a delicious dinner, entertainment, and other games.  Parents are encouraged to attend as well as help find sponsors, auction items, and volunteer during the event.

Legacy
An event unique to Riverfield, this fun fair with games, prizes, and food is coordinated and executed by the 8th grade class each May as a "Giving Back" gift to the next year's class.  Funds raised are a “legacy” to help offset the cost of the following year’s Spring Trip.

In addition to school-wide events, each Division hosts extracurricular opportunities and events throughout the year.
